Store windows have been proclaiming it for weeks, but I still can't believe it's that time of year again, despite the shorter days, the cooler nights, the turning leaves...
Oh wait - that's not happening at all! It's still light until quite late, it's too hot for sheets, and the leaves are turning, but it's to dust for want of water, which is maybe why it hasn't quite sunk in that tomorrow is the first day of school.
I'm kind of in denial. Maybe it's the
Yes.
So I spent the morning getting my domestic ducks in order, and you know what? It felt pretty good: The house is clean, the cupboards, closets and drawers are in order, there's a menu plan on the fridge, which is stocked with the right ingredients. Yoga and swimming and volunteering are on the agenda. My work bag is in its place by the door and the coffee maker is ready to go at 7am (!!!) tomorrow.
But now I can forget about it all for one more glorious afternoon of freedom. There's time to lounge on the couch with a stack of magazines. To sip a G&T on the balcony with Tall Guy. To do whatever - it's still summer for a little bit longer, and I'm going to enjoy every minute.
That sums it up for me too!
ReplyDeleteWow, an ocean apart and we still have the same schedule. :) Have a good day tomorrow!!!
