Lesson 1: Hallo, ich heiße Jessica. Und Sie?

So, I've started learning German.
  • I can greet you at all hours of the day: Hallo! Guten Morgen/Tag/Abend, Gute Nacht
  • I can tell you my name: Mein Name ist Jessica. Ich heiße Jessica 
  • I can ask you what your name is: Wie ist Irh Name? Wie hießen Sie?
  • I can tell you where I'm from and where I live now: Ich komme aus Kanada, aber ich wohne jetzt in Wiesbaden
  • I can ask where you're from and where you live: Woher kommen Sie? Wo wohnen Sie?
  • I can say goodbye: Auf Wiedersehen
  • AND... I can even type "ß" on my North American keyboard.

    How do we know that "ß" is really what you are typing? It could be "Þ" or "æ" or even "ij".

    In any case, gute arbeit fraulein. :)
