What is in Chinese hairspray?

Here it is, a picture of the back of my head, as per Tall Mom’s request. 

This was my do for the latest wedding. My hairdresser (who is Chinese, hence the question) went in a completely different direction from October, when the focus was on big hair. This time the focus was on the feathery fascinator (“We will make hair a bird would love to fly into”). 

It held up well – this pic was taken 12 hours later, post- afternoon in 35C, reception in blowing AC and hours of dancing!
